USS
Enterprise (CVN-65) was one of the most prominent symbols of the US
Navy since the 1960s. The platform was the first nuclear-powered
aircraft carrier to be commissioned. It also became the first example
of its class to be decommissioned in 2012.
USS Enterprise was ready for commands throughout its fifty years of
service, pioneering in many other things and playing essential roles
in many important events worldwide.
