Airbus Helicopters plans to conduct maiden flight of its new VSR700 vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) by December, 2017, the company's CEO said in a press briefing on 27 January. Developed in partnership with French shipbuilder DCNS, VSR700 VTOL UAV was first revealed in October 2016. DCNS will be responsible for its integration into ship-based operations such as development and validation of the mission system the payloads and mission datalinks.
