Just before he left the office, the 44th President of the USA Barack Obama signed into law the Countering Information Warfare Act on December 23. 

It was initially entitled as Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act, a bipartisan bill which was introduced by the United States Congress in May 2016 by U.S. Senators Rob Portman (R) and Chris Murphy (D). And Obama signed it into law in the wake of his departure.
