Russia has developed a new device to disorient torpedoes' target-seeking heads and submarine sonars. Being as small as 80 cm and weighing 13,5 kg, the “Small-Size Hydroacoustic Countermeasure Device Vist-2” can be launched from a submarine or surface ship via 123mm launcher and creates a powerful acoustic hindrance, which jams hostile torpedoes or submarine sonars. Vist-2 can be transformed into a 'false target' thanks to the emission of a special signal that simulates a ship or a submarine. According to local sources, the device already entered service with the Russian Navy.
