The UK’s Ministry of Defence commenced negotiations with the US Government for acquisition of Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) which, if approved, might lead to the first export contract for the Oshkosh vehicle. Speaking at the International Armoured Vehicles conference in London on 24 January, the director of land equipment at the UK's Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation revealed that the British Army sent a letter of request to US to meet the army’s Multi-Role Vehicle-Protected (MRV-P) Group 1 requirement. UK is expected to purchase approximately 750 JLTVs.
