The United Kingdom and Germany have signed a contract worth £52 million for the procurement of advanced-technology artillery systems. The agreement, which aims to deepen defense cooperation between the two countries, also seeks to strengthen NATO’s collective defense capabilities.
Joint Test and Evaluation Process
Within the scope of the contract implemented under the Trinity House Agreement signed in October 2024, the United Kingdom will receive one Early Capability Demonstrator platform of the RCH 155 artillery system. Germany, on the other hand, will procure two systems and conduct joint test and evaluation activities.
RCH 155: Firepower on the Move
The next-generation RCH 155 artillery system stands out with its capability to fire while on the move and can strike targets at ranges of up to 70 kilometers. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, the system is designed to be operated by a crew of only two. These technical features enable faster deployment, firing, and rapid relocation, thereby increasing operational effectiveness and survivability.
