China's Hongdu Aviation Industry Group (HAIG) has unveiled the L-15B advanced jet trainer, a twin-seat, lead-in fighter-trainer (LIFT) variant of the L-15A, on 1 May. Apart from its trainer and light attack missions, the L-15B can also be used in the air defence and air-to-ground attack roles.
According to China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), the L-15BÂ has nine weapon hardpoints and attachments for a 3,5-tonne payload.Â
