Turkish-Indonesian joint production medium-weight battle tank, KAPLAN MT has completed qualification trials and is ready for mass production in Indonesia which could lead to the manufacture of up to 400 units.

Turkey's heavy arms manufacturer, FNSS Savunma Sistemleri (FNSS) and Indonesia's PT Pindad design and develop tank in Turkey. The 30 to 35 ton tank has been built on a project model agreed upon by, to meet the country's need for medium-weight tanks.

The KAPLAN MT tank's prototype was first exhibited at the 13th International Defence Industry Fair held last May in Turkey.

A CMI Cockerill 3105 tower equipped to fire high-pressured 105mm shells provides the tank’s primary firepower while secondary weapon is a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.
