Turkish defence company Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) has come back from the US-organized “Annual Firearms Industry Team Challenge and Firearms Industry Choice Awards”, with a prize this year. The company has won the “Handgun of the Year” award with its Canik TP9Fx model produced in SYS Samsun facilities.

98 companies in all categories participated in the competition, which took place on 20-22 July 2017. The Canik TP9SFx model was awarded the “2017 Handgun of the Year” award among five shortlisted companies including Glock, Springfield, H&K and Sig Sauer.
