The claims that a nuclear-capable missile test-fired from a British submarine went off course, received serious reaction among the UK Parliament. Reportedly, an unarmed Trident II D5 missile was launched from a British submarine last year, towards a target located in the West coast of Africa, however veered off in the wrong direction towards the US. These claims were confirmed by a US defence official later on. The UK Prime Minister Theresa May, who continually refused to answer questions about whether she new about the failed test before the House of Commons voted to spend £40 billion on renewal of Trident missiles, has been severely criticized regarding the incident.
