The US State Department has made a determination to approve a $1,25 billion High Mobility Artillery Rocket System sale to Romania on 18 August. Following the Congress approval, Romania will be cleared to acquire 54 HIMARS launchers along with 81 unitary Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS) and 81 alternative warhead GMLRS.
Romania's request also includes 54 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and 30 M1151A1 Humvees.
