While the rising right in Europe and the United States promotes inward-looking and protectionist policies as well as anti-immigration, the same trend in three Asian giants is reflected in historical-based ethnic nationalism and active engagement in foreign policy.

Rising popularity of the Right throughout the world manifests itself in many ways: Brexit in the United Kingdom; Donald Trump in the United States; election campaigns and immigration policies in continental Europe’s France, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary just to name a few. The main reason behind this development can be explained with the end of nearly 500 years of global superiority of Western powers and the gradual accumulation of economic and geopolitical power in Asia in the last 50 years.
