Argentina has acquired Beechcraft T-6C+ Texan II turboprop trainer and light-attack aircraft, announced on 25 April. Under $88.2 million contract covers four aircraft set to be delivered by 30 April 2018.
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) statement said the purchase would revitalise Argentina's capability to train its pilots and fulfill border control missions, especially along its porous northern border. Powered by Pratt & Whitney PT6A-68 turboprop engines, the T-6C has an endurance of three hours at maximum cruise speed and a range of over one thousand 500 km.
