The T70 Utility Helicopter, of which TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) is the main contractor and subcontracted by Aselsan, TEI, Alp Aviation and Sikorsky, has been delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command.

Within the scope of the project, 109 T70s, which will be developed based on Sikorsky Aircraft’s S70i Helicopter, are planned to be delivered to the Land Forces Command, Air Force Command, Special Forces Command, Gendarmerie General Command, General Directorate of Security and General Directorate of Forestry.

During the development process of the T70, the main contractor TAI undertook the production, final assembly processes, tests and integrated logistics support of all main parts such as the cabin, cockpit, tail cone, horizontal and vertical tail, main and tail rotor blades. Subcontractor Aselsan took over the development and integration of basic avionics and helicopter cockpit development together with Sikorsky. TEI undertook the production of the T700 engine, while Alp Aviation undertook the production and assembly of the landing gear, gearbox detail parts and dynamic parts.

It is aimed that the T70 Utility Helicopter will meet Türkiye’s general purpose helicopter needs and meet the needs in military and civilian areas.
