Another critical milestone has been passed in the Malaysian Corvette Project carried out under the main contractor STM. The delivery process of the National Roll Stabilization System, developed with Türkiye’s domestic capabilities, for three ships has been successfully completed.
Türkiye’s engineering giant in military naval systems, STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., has added another export success to its achievements. Developed in cooperation with Robotek Automation Technologies and having previously proven its maturity on corvette-class platforms, Türkiye’s first national Roll Stabilization System is being integrated into three new corvettes built for Malaysia. The system’s Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) were successfully completed and deliveries were carried out.
Domestic Signature on a Total of 5 Exported Ships
Within the scope of projects carried out by STM, a total of 5 warships exported abroad to date have been equipped with this system, which is a product of Turkish engineering. Previously integrated into two corvettes, the system has further solidified its position in the global market with the Malaysian project.
In addition to its success in the international arena, the system will also undertake critical missions in the Blue Homeland. The system, which will also serve on the MİLGEM İstif Class Frigates, Türkiye’s national frigate initiative, certified its full compliance with International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) standards with the Turkish Lloyd certificate it received in 2024.
Foreign Dependency Ends: High Stabilization and Comfort
This critical technology, previously procured from abroad, has completely eliminated foreign dependency with STM’s domestic solution. The main operational advantages provided by the system are as follows:
Personnel Performance: By damping the ship’s rolling motions, it increases crew comfort and keeps operational efficiency at the highest level during long voyages.
Operational Continuity: Enables helicopter operations, weapon stabilization, and replenishment at sea activities to be carried out safely even in heavy sea conditions.
Adaptive Technology: Maintains the ship’s balance in minimum time during sudden maneuvers thanks to its automatic and adaptive operating capability.
