Turkish Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSIK) will convene at 16:00 today under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The meeting is expected to be attended by Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defence Nurettin Canikli, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu and Undersecretary for Defence Industries Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir. 

The first SSİK meeting of 2018 was held on 31 January under the presidency of President Erdoğan for the first time. At the meeting, it was also decided that these meetings would take place routinely every two months. This will be the first meeting of the SSIK to implement that decision. The mass production tender for the Altay Main Battle Tank comes at the forefront of the committee's discussions.
