IBD Deisenroth Engineering (IBD) introduces a new active armor solution. The armor package provides greater protection against tandem-warhead munitions for main battle tanks, medium and heavy armored combat vehicles.

SMART-PROTech armor package consists of sensors and modular blocks consisting of one or two countermeasures. The module, which is placed in variable shapes according to the position and physical shape of the module, is integrated at a 30 degree angle with respect to the ground plane. This placement allows the countermasures the eliminating threat befor penetrating the armor. Light and medium caliber ammunition s are prevented by the passive armor in the lower layer without triggering the system. According to the company, the new armor system increases the level of protection without causing any significant increase in size and weight of the vehicle.
