The Russian Navy plans to establish non-nuclear deterrence groups in the structure of ships with high-precision weapons, said the commander of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolev.
“The formation of strategic non-nuclear deterrence units in the structure of long-range high-precision weapons carriers, the upgrading of the Navy base system, ensuring balanced deliveries of weapons and ammunition,” he said at a meeting with Navy veterans.
In November 2017, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu said that the country’s non-nuclear forces would become capable of completely ensuring national security by 2020.
