UK-based Rotron and U.S.-based Ondas Inc. are joining forces to establish a global manufacturing network aimed at meeting the autonomous defense needs of NATO and allied forces.
Rotron, a United Kingdom–based advanced defense technologies company, has entered into a strategic agreement to be acquired by Nasdaq-listed Ondas Inc. (ONDS). Through this move, the company aims to significantly scale the global delivery of long-range autonomous defense systems for the United Kingdom, NATO, and allied forces.
Integrated Defense Architecture: A System of Systems
Following the acquisition, Rotron will become part of Ondas Autonomous Systems. The company’s proprietary propulsion technologies and autonomous strike platforms will be integrated into a broader “system of systems” architecture designed for modern operational environments. Rotron plans to address growing global demand by delivering cost-effective, “attritable” unmanned systems that reduce risk to personnel and are capable of sustained operations in high-threat environments.
Flagship Platforms: Talon and Defendor
Rotron’s portfolio includes dual-use vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems with long endurance, as well as next-generation unmanned combat aerial vehicles designed for precision autonomous engagement. Reflecting the company’s vertically integrated approach to platform design, its flagship Talon multi-role VTOL series features a proprietary three-bladed rotor head system optimized for endurance, stability, and manufacturability. Another critical platform, the Defendor one-way autonomous attack system, is powered by Rotron’s in-house manufactured engine and fan propulsion systems, delivering high performance and full integration for demanding defense missions.
“Our Engineering Culture Will Remain Unchanged”
Gilo Cardozo, Founder and CTO of Rotron, stated that by combining Rotron’s propulsion-focused engineering expertise with Ondas’ global network, they will be able to deliver greater capabilities to allied forces more rapidly. Cardozo emphasized that the company’s operational structure and engineering culture in the United Kingdom will be preserved. Mark Green, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Ondas Inc., noted that Rotron’s presence within the UK and NATO ecosystem supports Ondas’ strategy of providing integrated autonomous systems for modern military operations.
Once the transaction is completed, Rotron will continue to operate from the United Kingdom, retaining its manufacturing and program delivery teams.
