November 18, 2020Rafales to Be Delivered to Greece with F3R Improvement
Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis said they would buy 18 French Rafale fighter jets.
France will send 12 aircraft to Greece to F3R standards. Athens is also reportedly planning to buy MICA NG and SCALP missiles.
The F3R standard is the air-to-ground laser-guided version of BVRAAM and Sagem (Armement Air-Sol Modulaire/AASM), as well as the Thales TALIOS long-range air-to-air targeting wing; automatic land collision prevention system (Auto-GCAS); Thales RBE2 covers the AESA radar and spectra electronic warfare system.
The first of the jets is scheduled to be delivered to Greece next year.
