The US and Republic of Korea's (RoK's) response to North Korea's intercontinental ballistic missile test have come quickly. On 5 July, two countries held a missile drill to emphasize their combined strike capabilities. According to US Forces Korea (USFK) statement, the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) and the RoK's Hyunmoo Missile 2 have been fired during the drill and the systems can be rapidly deployed and engage the full array of time-critical targets under all weather conditions. USFK added that this exercise demonstrated the combined deep strike capabilities that allow the RoK-US alliance to neutralise hostile threats and aggression against the RoK, United States, and allies.
