It was announced that Germany provided control and patrols in front of the military quarters through private security companies and this cost about 430 million Euros in the last five years. With the German Army (Bundeswehr) no longer keeping watch, the budget spent on this situation rose from 236.6 million in 2014 to 431.6 million in 2019.
The Bundeswehr's seizure is both more expensive, and the number of people in the forces is not suitable for this. The German Defence Ministry said, “A restoration will also be required for the Army,” regarding Bundeswehr's watchdog. This also shows that additional costs, such as military training and accommodation, will arise. There are now eight thousand private security guards who are tasked with protecting military quarters.
