Turkish Machinary and Chemical Industry Corporation's (MKEK's) towed howitzer 'Panter' (Panther) is on the move. The first mock-up of truck-mounted howitzer Panter 2, developed in partnership of MKEK and ASELSAN, has been displayed at the defence exhibition in Abu Dabhi. MKEK's 40 km-range artillery weapon Panter was designed as both to move by its own and towed. Panter 2 maintains the main features of the howitzer, however is able to move faster via truck. The barrel and weapons systems of the howitzer are the same with its predecessor and has 600 km operational range.
