The basic features and history of 7.62x39mm which has proved itself in over 70 years under all weather and combat conditions have been mentioned in the previous issue. In this issue, this cartridge will be evaluated within the conditions of urban warfare.
The evaluation starts with the basic characteristics of the 7.62 × 39 mm cartridge produced by 36 factories in 14 different projectile types in 22 countries (Table-2).
Bimetal sheet mild steel core inside lead filling makes up for 50% of the volume of the bullet. It is made from 100Cr6 steel with a rigidity of 23HRCor GOST 1050-88 Standard 10th degree steel or C10E 1.1121 steel. The M43 is considered as the military standard of the 7.62×39 mm cartridge.
