On The Edge Of Critical Decisions

Germany is currently trying to decide the replacement for AgustaWestland Lynx Mk 88A helicopters, revealed by a senior official in German Navy. The official said the Navy planned to complete the replacement by 2025 and would acquire a mix of manned and unmanned systems to carry out Mk 88A missions. The service has been evaluating primarily NHIndustries NFH90 and AW159 Wildcat helicopters in this scope, although a final decision is yet to be made. According to the Navy, the replacements should be able to fit the hangars on navy's frigates and meet the service's today and future requirements in terms of anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare capability.
