The Borei-A Class Knyaz Vladimir submarine, developed under the Project 955A modernization program for the Russian Navy, has a short time to enter the inventory. Russian officials announced that the platform, which provides its energy from nuclear power, has successfully completed extensive tests. Knyaz Vladimir will be delivered to the Russian Navy in about a month and a half. It was floated out in November 2017. According to the data of Russia’s Defence Ministry, the sub Knyaz Vladimir is less noisy and features improved manoeuvring, depth and armament control systems.
The platform, which can be equipped with new weapon systems, especially R30- Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles.
