The US Marine Corps (USMC) is planning a new upgrade on V-22 Ospreys. John Parker from Boeing revealed on 29 March that the upgrades will include equipping the tiltrotor with high intensity directed energy weaponry and non-lethal armament such as sonic waves.
Introduced in 2007 as the first tiltrotor aircraft, the Osprey has a range of over a thousand miles.
