Boeing has been awarded a $2,1 billion contract for an additional 15 KC-46A tanker aircraft on 27 January. The contract also covers two spare engines and five wing refuelling pod units. The US Air Force initially ordered 19 low rate production aircraft in August, 2016. Boeing hopes to deliver the first 18 aircraft by January 2018.
