Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been awarded a $1,2 billion contract for 32 new Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters (ALHs) for the Indian Navy (IN) and Coastguard, announced by the company on 30 March. the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) had approved manufacture of 32 Dhruv Mk IIIs in July 2014, 16 each for the IN and coastguard.
