India has confirmed the procurement of a new helicopter. Indian Ministry of Defence decided to procure 24 MH-60R Romeo helicopters. Procurement proposed to cost approximately US $ 3.39 billion has not been approved yet.

Romeos are propelled by twin 1910 HP engine and has a range of 834 kilometers.

India has signed an agreement in excess of US $ 2 billion for the supply of 111 navy helicopters in the weeks. Some of the helicopters to be supplied by this agreement will be produced in India.
