Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced his country is working on a new fighter aircraft design. The first data that emerged after the explanation of the President was related to the motor of the aircraft. Accordingly, the aircraft will feature two Ivchenko-Progress / Motor Sich AI-322F turbofan engines. The type of the engine also revealed the possible mission description of the aircraft. The same engine is also used on the L-15 fighter aircraft which the Chinese Air Force utilize in advanced training and light strike operations. 

Ukraine also plans to end its dependence on Russian systems with this aircraft. According to the information obtained, western and Ukrainian systems will be used in the electronic subsystems of the aircraft.
