Safran Helicopter Engines has unveiled a new family of powerplants called Aneto in early October.
The company states that the engines offer 25% more power compared with existing engines of the same volume with reduced operating costs up to 15% in fuel savings. The Aneto high power engine family covers the 2,500 to over 3,000 shaft horsepower (shp) power range. The first Aneto-1K engine is rated at 2,500 shp and has already been selected to power the AgustaWestland AW189K.
