October 12, 2017New Command To US Army
The US Army is establishing a new command to realign modernization responsibilities under a new organization. The new organization will implement cross-functional teams that align with the Army’s six modernization priorities: Long-Range Precision Fires, next-generation combat vehicle, Future Vertical Lift, the network, air-and-missile defence and soldier lethality.
The main goal for this new establishment is to see the army's major efforts through to the final product while avoiding delays in project developments and reducing additional costs that exceed allocated budget.
The US Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley said their objective was to get this new command stood up by summer 2018.
