Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has unveiled its newest amphibious tracked vehicle at MAST Asia 2017 fair being held in Tokyo, Japan. The company exhibited  a demonstrator scale model of the vehicle which is powered by a turbo-charged Diesel engine of 2,206 kW and is able to accomodate a total of 15 personnel. The vehicle features an integrated arm hydro pneumatic suspension which allows the tracks to be hydraulically lowered during water operations in order to reduce drag. 

Mitsubishi has designed the vehicle to achieve both good manoeuvrability on land, and relatively higher speeds in the water. The company plans to offer the amphibious vehicle to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). The demonstrator is now undergoing verification tests.
