Boeing has signed an agreement with the US Department of Defense. Under the agreement, the aircraft of the US Navy Blue Angels demonstration team will be replaced. Boeing will convert nine F/A-18Es and two F A-18Fs into a Blue Angels configuration with an agreement of USD 17 million. The transformation process will take place in engineering proposal 6480.

Blue Angels is US Navy's acrobatic team which has been flying different models of F/A-18 aircraft since 30 years. The F/A-18E/Fs are 25% larger and have 40% longer endureance than other models. Blue Angels pilots, are chosen within the Navy and Marine Corps pilots.
