Norway is to purchase five Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime multimission aircraft (MMA) from the US through a $1,17 billion foreign military sales contract, according to the announcement made on 29 March. The P-8As will replace the Royal Norwegian Air Force's (RoNAF's) six Lockheed Martin P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) and three Dassault Falcon DA-20 Jet Falcon surveillance aircraft. The new aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between 2022 and 2023.
