Indonesia, which has accelerated its armament and replacing/modernisation activities in parallel with the increasing tension in the region, has left behind an important phase in the F-16 modernization process.
The first Indonesian Air Force (Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Udara / TNI-AU) F-16A Fighting Falcon, serial number TS-1610, completing its modernization activities, and made first flight. Under the Falcon STAR (Structural Augmentation Roadmap) program, the Indonesia F-16s, which will carry out mid-life upgrade activities, will undergo some improvements. The aircraft, whose fuselage structural components will be improved, can operate up to 8,000. In addition, the platforms will be equipped with advanced avionics and modern weapon systems.
