March 17, 2018Mig to overhaul Bulgarian Mig-29s
NATO member Bulgaria is now able to work with Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG to overhaul and maintain its fleet of ageing MiG-29 fighter jets. Sofia had initially hoped to sign a four-year deal worth $51.45 million with Russian firm but had to delay it following an appeal by Ukrainian arms exporter Ukrinmash. Ukrainian company Ukrinmash eventually lost the case. Bulgaria continues its search for new fighters from a Western manufacturer.
