The mass production of the Armata tank has been one of the questions talking in defence lobbies. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Yuri Borisov made statements on the issue
Borisov announced in hhe statement, mass production of T-14 Armata platforms for a large-scale is not planned currently. In the process of rearming of the Russian Army, priority was given to modernizing existing equipment. The statement said that the T-14, T-15 and Kurganets-25 systems are the vehicles of the future and that the current needs of the Russian Army can be met by the existing equipment. Borisov said in his statement that Russia has given priority to this area because modernization activities are much cheaper than the production of new systems. The Russian Defence budget, which is 10 times smaller than the defense budget of NATO countries, has not been able to provide a wide range of mass production activities at the moment.
