The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Authority (MMEA) announced on 3 March that it has completed sea trials of its first-of-class UAV-capable New Generation Patrol Craft (NGPC). The vessel is the first of six coastal patrol vessels ordered under $85 million contact signed in 2015. According to the manufacturer, Destini Shipbuilding & Engineering, the vessel features an overall length of 44.25 m, an overall beam of 7.7 m and powered by two 1,920 kW MTU engines, providing a top speed of 24 kt. The standard range of NGPC is 2,000 nautical miles at 12 kt.
