USA has approved the procurement of A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft for $ 593 million to Nigeria. It is planned to deliver 12 A-29 Super Tucano to Nigeria for sale under FMS. The supply package includes 12 aircraft, as well as training and technical support. It is aimed to make the operations of Nigeria's Boko Haram terror organization more effective by using the aircraft with advanced targeting systems and the weapon payload.

Nigeria has demanded these aircraft in 2015 due to terrorist incidents in the country, but Obama administration has suspended this request because of problems in the country.
