India partnered with Russia to develop BrahMos light cruise missile for Russia’s fifth-generation Sukhoi T-50 (PAK FA) fighter jets. Machine-Building R&D Consortium CEO Alexander Leonov announced the agreement on 27 January, saying that The BrahMos missiles will be mounted on both T-50s and submarines’ torpedo launchers. The new version will be lighter and smaller in size, allowing a wide range of aircraft to be fitted with the missile, such as MiG-35s.
