Kratos Defense & Security will officially unveil a new class of unmanned aerial systems at the 2017 Paris Air Show to be held next week. Designed to function as combat swarms to be used in conjunction with manned aircraft, the XQ-222 Valkyrie and UTAP-22 Mako are highly maneuverable, stealthy, able to fly at near supersonic speeds, and can carry and deploy weapons or surveillance systems. 9-meter long XQ-222 has range of more than 3 thousand nautical miles and is expected to carry out its maiden flight in in spring of 2018. Unmanned Tactical Aerial Platform-22 (UTAP-22) Mako has a length of 6,4 meters and a range of one thousand 400 nautical miles.
