KNDS and TYTAN Technologies have signed a strategic collaboration to expand mobile Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS )solutions and set new European defense standards, building on the success of the BOXER platform.
Military land systems manufacturer KNDS and drone defense technology specialist TYTAN Technologies are expanding their cooperation to enhance mobile defense capabilities against unmanned aerial threats. On February 6, 2026, in a ceremony attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche, the parties signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at increasing the security of land platforms.
Full Integration with BOXER RCT30
This strategic partnership follows the successful integration of TYTAN’s kinetic Interceptor-S system with the KNDS-produced BOXER RCT30 turret. After the system was showcased at the Experimentalserie Land event in Munster/Bergen in autumn 2025, the two companies committed to fully integrating TYTAN’s “drone vs. drone” air defense layers into KNDS land systems and personnel protection solutions, bringing them to the field.
New European Standards on the Way
As part of the collaboration, the parties aim to establish new technical standards that will shape modern defense architecture. In this context, they will focus on jointly developing a new standard for mobile UAV launch solutions that will be valid across Europe. Additionally, R&D activities will advance C-UAS technologies for protecting military bases and forward-line air defense layers. This initiative seeks to create a harmonized and highly effective defense infrastructure against asymmetric threats across Europe.
“Real Field Experience Creates Capability”
TYTAN CEO Balázs Nagy emphasized that combining the strengths of two companies with battlefield-proven systems will set a new industrial standard in the C-UAS field. KNDS Executive Vice President for Digitalization Mathias Nöhl noted that working with agile partners like TYTAN provides an ideal match to deliver innovative solutions to soldiers.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche stated at the ceremony: “Drones are systems that not only protect critical infrastructure but also contribute to defense against hostile aerial threats in Ukraine. This technology is shaped not at the desk, but through real operational experience, including in Ukraine, and the willingness to take risks. Only this creates true capability.”
