Russia, decided to return some of Kh-22 (NATO Code: AS-4 Kitchen), anti-ship missiles to active service which is reserved after retirement. According to a report published on Izvestia, 32 of the Kh-22 missiles that were put out of service and kept in storage after completing the service life will be modernized. Modernization process will cost $ 4.8 million.
The Kh-22 missile, which was put in service in 1960, can only be fired from Tu-22M aircraft. It has 400 kilometers range and it can carry up to 930 kilograms warhead.
