Dassault Systèmes and Samsung Heavy Industries signed an agreement. Under the agreement, Samsung Heavy Industries will develop a “smart shipyard” system based on digital transformation technology.

Dassault Systèmes will form an advisory group for digital transformation in collaboration with Samsung Heavy Industries’ Smart SHI team.  The advisory group, which includes experts from Dassault Systèmes’ local and global headquarters and core technologies, will define and develop the processes and tools needed to develop the smart shipyard project.

The Smart Shipyard project will optimize the timing and execution of shipyard operations, while speeding up production and assembly processes, facilitating and automating the information flow required for construction.

Based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Dassault Systèmes’ smart shipyard will support the digital network by integrating various data sources and real-time operational information. The virtual twins of the ships and the shipyard’s virtual twins will be connected to each other, so that business processes will be automated and standardized with artificial intelligence.
