April 3, 2019Indonesia Commissions 4th Teluk Bintuni-Class LST

The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) recently commissioned the fourth ship of the Teluk Bintuni-class Landing Ship Tank (LST), the KRI Teluk Lada (pennant no: 521).
The KRI Teluk Lada was built by Indonesian shipyard PT Daya Radar Utama based in Panjang, and was launched on 28 June 2018. The ship displaces at 2,350 tons, has a total length of 117 meters, a beam of 16.4 meters, and a depth of 7.8 meters.
It has a maximum speed of 16 knots with a maximum range of 6,240 nautical miles at 13 knots cruising speed.
It has a helicopter landing pad and hangar for two helicopters and can carry up to 10 Leopard 2 main battle tanks, which is the standard main battle tank of the Indonesian Army.
The ship will be assigned with the TNI-AL’s 3rd Fleet Command (KOARMADA III), in charge of naval operations on the eastern side of the country.
