India is aiming to make a new step on missile technology. Following its success on BrahMos anti-ship missile with Russia, India will make Air-breathing Hypersonic Glide Vehicles (HGV) by 2050.
A one-day workshop on “Challenges in Air-breathing Hypersonic Technologies” was held in the country. It is stated that there are many challenges to overcome such as financing the cost and finding the materials that withstand at nearly 1,800-degree Celsius temperature.
Hypersonic weapons travel at least five times the speed of sound.
