Hypersonic threats poses a significant risk for surface platforms. The answer to these threats, which become common in future at the battlefield, came from Saab. The company has begun work on the integration of Hypersonic Detection Mode (HDM) to Sea Giraffe radars.

The system, which aims to give more time to the ships against hypersonic threats, uses Saab's next generation track while scan technology. This allows the system to continue scanning for new threats, including targets with a low radar cross-section, even if it is locked to a target. Optimized for Sea Giraffe 4A radar, it has a fixed array. This interface was also taken over by Saab's multi-function S-band AESA radars.
