One of the works carried out for the safe communication development works, which is vital in combat conditions is close to succesful end. 

Ground tests of the laser based communication system developed by General Atomics have been completed. The so-called Airborne Laser Communication System (ALCoS) has managed to establish a connection with a geosynchronous orbiting satellite for the first time within the scope of the tests. The hardware planned to be used in MALE / (Medium Altitude Long Endurance) UAVs provided data transfer to the 135th Laser Communication Terminal of Alphasat Satellite of Tesat-Spacecom.
